Health & Safety
All teachers and staff are required to complete a 6-hour Health and Safety training course within their first week of employment and is renewed annually. This training covers a variety of topics relating to the health and safety of children including safe sleep practices, building and physical environment safety protocols, infectious disease prevention, administering medications, emergency preparedness, handling biohazards, and so much more. In addition, all staff are required to be First Aid/CPR certified so that we can be ready to handle any situation. Each classroom and playground are equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit that is replenished weekly.
A registered Health Consultant frequently reviews our Health Policy to ensure we are following all guidelines set forth by the Maine and Federal CDC. Our policies ensure that we are keeping our Roselyn North Academy communities healthy. Working with our local Emergency Management agencies, each Academy has a detailed Emergency Preparedness Plan that is reviewed upon hire, practiced through drills, and reviewed frequently at staff meetings.
